RJ Gross - An Introduction

RJ Gross holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Drexel University. He has been passionately working in the aerospace industry for the past 7 years.
  • His specialization is in Electro | Mechanical machine design and automation integration. Currently he is employed by Eaton Aerospace as a Lead Manufacturing Engineer. He has many responsibilities but his main focus is long term strategic projects. With this role he is leading the evolution of his site's manufacturing production with smart technologies.   See his Portfolio for more details about Eaton responsibilities and accomplishments.

As an entrepreneur, he has created two small businesses, one of which is still operational.
  • Currently he solely owns and operates Fitness Design ENG; an accessories company that empowers athletes with specialized gear. This small business uses 3D printing with a print on demand model. His flagship product is an innovative magnetic cycle shoe storage system.   • Formally, Carbide Labs was a specialized group of engineers that built a spin off company from their research lab. RJ was the Chief Technical Officer where he co-led the design and manufacturing of their flagship product; the Pick n' Paste. Carbide also formed a partnership with Tormach, a CNC machine vendor, to provide software development and onsite CNC training. During his college years, he was a Robotics Researcher at the Drexel Autonomous System Labs (DASL).
  • His focus was research and development of Humanoid Robotics and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. During his tenure the laboratory was granted an eleven million dollar National Science Foundation grant. This grant gave RJ the opportunity to work on cutting edge robotic systems and live in South Korea. He worked with a brilliant team at Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) developing the Humanoid robot, HUBO. See his Portfolio for more details about DASL & robotics research.
