RJ Gross - An Introduction

RJ Gross holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Drexel University. He has been passionately working in the aerospace industry for the past 9 years.
  • He currently is specializing in topology strategy and hardware deployment of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) & predictive maintenance I4.0 tools. He also maintains dual roles of hands-on site engagement and project management. Currently he is employed by Eaton Aerospace as a Industry 4.0 Specialist & he is an acting project management. He is currently project managing the transformation of a Digital Accelerator site in Mexico. With these roles he is leading the evolution of Aerospace's manufacturing production with smart technologies. 
  • Before this current role he was a Lead Manufacturing Engineer at a Eaton Aerospace Site. He specialized in Lean tools and automation Integration. As an entrepreneur, he has created two small businesses, one of which is still operational.
  • Currently he solely owns and operates Fitness Design ENG; an accessories company that empowers athletes with specialized gear. This small business uses 3D printing with a print on demand model. His flagship product is an innovative magnetic cycle shoe storage system.   • Formally, Carbide Labs was a specialized group of engineers that built a spin off company from their research lab. RJ was the Chief Technical Officer where he co-led the design and manufacturing of their flagship product; the Pick n' Paste. Carbide also formed a partnership with Tormach, a CNC machine vendor, to provide software development and onsite CNC training. During his college years, he was a Robotics Researcher at the Drexel Autonomous System Labs (DASL).
  • His focus was research and development of Humanoid Robotics and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. During his tenure the laboratory was granted an eleven million dollar National Science Foundation grant. This grant gave RJ the opportunity to work on cutting edge robotic systems and live in South Korea. He worked with a brilliant team at Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) developing the Humanoid robot, HUBO. See his Portfolio for more details about DASL & robotics research.
